Jupiter May Be Closer Than You Think is one in a series of improvisational films that combines elements of gothic horror and psychological thriller, touching on themes of being alone, alienation, psychological deterioration, self-destructiveness, suppressed tension and boredom. The texts that accompany the visual representation are depicted as cut-out fragments of a film script suggesting that what we are seeing are merely a series of sketches and instructions in the process of making a film.
Dalibor Barić
Dalibor Barić was born in 1974. He is a director of experimental and animated films, in his works often exploring traditional genres such as science fiction and horror. Using found footage as his material and collage as his preferred technique, he creates films that re-examine artistic practices in the digital age as well as ideas about authenticity, simulation/replication and appropriation.
