My Game of Longing
The film is based on a sonic collage created from several episodes of the original The Twilight Zone. The fragments of different stories that intertwine and intermingle are permeated by feelings of uncertainty, doubt, vulnerability, longing, inability to express one’s self, rejection, denial, etc. The effect of watching the film is akin to eavesdropping on the lives of other people, hidden behind a screen made up of a collage of drawings of diagrams, old advertisements and comics.
Dalibor Barić
Dalibor Barić was born in 1974. He is a director of experimental and animated films, in his works often exploring traditional genres such as science fiction and horror. Using found footage as his material and collage as his preferred technique, he creates films that re-examine artistic practices in the digital age as well as ideas about authenticity, simulation/replication and appropriation.
